A Day in the Life of a Murphy’s HVAC Technician: Keeping Cape Cod Cool

Rise and Shine

My day as a Murphy’s HVAC technician begins bright and early at 6:30 AM. After a quick breakfast and strong coffee, I’m out the door by 7:15, ready to tackle the day’s challenges. Our team at Murphy’s takes pride in providing top-notch air conditioning services to the Cape Cod area, including Barnstable, Dennis, Harwich, Yarmouth, and Harwich Port.

Morning Routine

8:00 AM: I arrive at our first job in Barnstable. The homeowner reported their AC unit making strange noises. After a thorough inspection, I discover a loose fan belt. A quick replacement later, and the system is running smoothly again.

10:30 AM: Next stop is a new HVAC installation in Dennis. Our team works efficiently to remove the old system and install a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient unit. The homeowners are thrilled with the prospect of lower energy bills and improved comfort.

Lunch Break

1:00 PM: I grab a quick lunch at a local deli in Yarmouth. It’s a scorcher today, which means we’ll likely get more emergency calls for AC repairs.

Afternoon Adventures

2:00 PM: As expected, we receive an urgent call from a resident in Harwich. Their air conditioner has completely stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year. I rush over and diagnose a faulty compressor. After explaining the situation to the homeowner, I get to work replacing the component.

4:30 PM: My final scheduled appointment is in Harwich Port for routine AC maintenance. Regular service helps prevent unexpected breakdowns and ensures optimal performance.

Wrapping Up

6:00 PM: As I’m heading back to the office, I get one last call for an emergency AC repair in Barnstable. A family’s hosting a dinner party, and their system just quit. I’m happy to help and get their air conditioning running again just in time for their guests to arrive.

8:00 PM: Finally, I return to the Murphy’s office to complete my paperwork and prepare for tomorrow’s schedule.

Being an HVAC technician at Murphy’s is challenging but rewarding. We take pride in keeping our Cape Cod neighbors comfortable year-round, whether it’s through AC service, heating repairs, or plumbing assistance. Another day done, and I’m looking forward to what tomorrow brings!
